Founder and Head of Products at CloudMade
Information Technology and Services | London, United Kingdom, GB
Nick is passionate about creating tools and services that enable developers to create remarkable location based experiences across all device types - from mobile to web and beyond. His passion comes from a background as a developer creating unique location based applications on web and mobile. A desire to enable the creation of unrivalled location experiences led him to co-found CloudMade in 2007.
As Head of Products at CloudMade, Nick is responsible for leading the company’s product vision and strategy. He is focused on empowering the 17,000-strong developer community as well as large companies using CloudMade, with the tools and services needed to create the best location products possible for their customers. CloudMade's products include great development tools, the richest map data and give developers the ability to earn revenues through location based advertising in their applications.
Having built a location platform being used by over 17,000 developers, primarily in the Navigation and Travel categories on iOS platforms, CloudMade are now focusing on expanding their tools and services to cover more app categories on more mobile platforms. If you are an iOS or Android developer interested in adding location to Games, Social, Utilities or other categories, get in touch with Nick.
An early pioneer and driving force behind OpenStreetMap, Nick has played a key role in the crowd sourcing movement. Often referred to as the Wikipedia of maps, OpenStreetMap (OSM) now has international acclaim with over a quarter of million users worldwide. Nick's involvement in the organisation since 2006 has given him a unique insight into the world of community created content.
